Whether it was your love for the Arts or a typo in the address bar above that has caused you to stumble upon this page, you're in for a treat. My name is J.R. Riggs and I am a Fine Arts Instructor for Bidwell Junior High School as well as for various elementary schools within the Chico Unified School District in Northern California. This page is to serve as a reference, inspiration, and resource for artists and their inquisitive parents alike. It is my sworn duty and blood oath to provide your child with the finest Art education possible sparing no expense.

I am part of a group of mobile teachers that visits classrooms monthly to provide the highest level of Art Curriculum available in the north state. I have both Multiple and Single Subject (Art Studio) Credentials. Because of my credentials I am one of the few people within the district that contracted teachers are able to request due to my expertise in certain subjects; most notably the Fine Arts Department. This has allowed me the opportunity to work in a collection of diverse settings. I have also had the opportunity to work as a long term Art substitute as well as an Art docent with a series of previously prepared independent units as well as a few of my own. I'm currently working an average of five days a week within the classroom as well as three to four days a week for my second job. I am a full time husband, father, student, teacher, and artist with little time for play...
